Belmont House is Emmaus Community’s first community house.

Located in the Fernwood-Oaklands neighbourhood, the house was purchased in May 2014 and has 3 apartments – and also houses our community chapel and hosts community events on the main floor.

Two of the apartments are filled with current community members.

We’re at the corner of Begbie, Belmont and Grant – right across from Stadacona Park.

We  have a lower-level (above ground) 2-bedroom suite, which is coming available for rent on or after August 2015.  The cost is $1200 a month for the whole unit (includes all utilities) or we can negotiate the rate for a shared unit between parties.

Features include:
– 2 Large bedrooms with a really big closet in one.
– Bathroom with clawfoot bathtub.
– Kitchen and living room.
– Shared laundry attached to suite.
– Access to shared yard / gardening space.
– Separate entrance.
– Lots of street parking.
– Community garden in boulevard space.

The only down-side is that the family with children live immediately above – so, though the floor and walls are are well-insulated, there will likely be some kid-noise!

Ideal for a single person, couple, small family or a shared space between students, friends, etc.  Preference will be given to folks interested in the common life of the Emmaus Community in some way – however, we’re open to others who are interested in the space.  Small pets are welcomed.

Photos and floor plan can be seen in this gallery.

Drop us a line if you’re interested and lets have a conversation!

In faith,

The Belmont House folks.
